Then the spirulina and straspberry-mint detox smoothie is a must in your morning routine.

Why Straspberry?

Well my little sister inspired me to shorten the name of the detox. Instead of ‘the spirulina-strawberry- raspberry & mint detox smoothie,’ I decided to shorten it to ‘the spirulina & straspberry-mint detox smoothie’ because both the strawberry and raspberry are berries that belong to the same family.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 20 grams strawberries
  • 10 grams raw almonds
  • 20 grams raspberries
  • 300 grams vanilla yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of moringa powder
  • 3 ice blocks
  • 200 ml water
  • Mint leaves

Instructions:

  1. Put the yoghurt, strawberries, raw almonds, raspberries, spirulina, moringa, ice blocks, water and mint leaves in a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, if the smoothie is too thick, add some water bit by bit until you reach the level of creaminess you want.
  3. Pour in a jar, glass or bowl
  4. Sprinkle some mint leaves, raspberries and raw almonds on top for a crunchy-chewy texture.
  5. Enjoy!

    1. I got the Spirulina powder from The Refillery South Africa pty. You can get the powder from stores that sell super foods such as moringa powder, chia seeds or any herb stores near you. Which country do you currently live in?

Smoothies and smoothie bowls are, hands down, my most favorite way to get loads of nutrition into myself and my kids. There are so many options and varieties and they are so delicious! Did you know today (June 21) is National Smoothie Day?!
